Digital Adventures: Keeping Safe, Sharing, and Creating on the Internet

R&D - April 11, 2023

Welcome to our digital adventure! Today, we're going to learn about staying safe, sharing, and creating in the magical world of the internet.

Imagine we're on a journey in a digital world, a place filled with secrets, treasures, and some hidden traps. On this adventure, we'll learn how to keep our treasures safe from pirates (cybersecurity), find out how sharing and trading treasures can be easy and safe (blockchain), and even learn how to create our own islands and games (web development). We'll use simple stories and examples to understand these big ideas, just like in our favorite storybooks!

Beginning Our Adventure

Why it's important to know how to stay safe while having fun on the internet. Learning how to build cool stuff online, like games and websites. Discovering that sometimes, knowing how to do something cool is just as good as having a treasure map.

Exploring the Digital World

Learning about keeping secrets safe online with special codes (cybersecurity). Understanding how blockchain is like a magic book that keeps everyone's promises safe and sound. Thinking about how using too much magic might not be good for the forests and rivers (environmental impact).

Building Our Own Spaceships and Castles

Setting up our own little clubhouse online where we can test secret messages (setting up local JSON servers). Keeping all our drawings and clubhouse rules safe in a big treasure chest (using GitHub). Using magical spells (coding in Vue.js) to make our clubhouse look cool and invite friends over easily.

Magic Books and Secret Keys

Finding out how special magic books (smart contracts) can make trading treasures fair and safe. Learning about secret keys (cryptographic hash functions) that make sure no one can sneak into our treasure chest. Discovering how the internet is becoming a place where everyone can make their own rules (Web3 and decentralized internet).

Friends, Pirates, and the Sea of the Internet

Realizing that being good at making or finding treasures (skills) is sometimes better than having a big map (degree). Watching out for pirates (cybercrime) who might try to steal treasures or trick us into giving them away. Dreaming about what new adventures await us as we learn more and the digital world keeps growing.

The End of the Journey (For Now)

Remembering all the cool things we learned about keeping safe, sharing, and creating online. Thinking about how all these adventures are connected and help us make the internet a better place. Hoping to learn more secrets and share them with friends as we keep exploring.
